Origins of Psychoanalysis: Traditional Psychiatry

Freud abandoned the rationalist psychology and psychiatry of his day and developed psycho-analysis out of the failures of hypnosis and other therapeutic methods. It was Jung who recognized the true roots of psychoanalysis not in the scientific materialism of the time but rather in the psychic methods of traditional medicine & psychiatry. We will explore the techniques of Eastern and Western alchemy, shamanism, and gnosis to develop a clinic of past, present, and future.
